If you’ve been worrying about a bit of dimpling on your backside, at least you know you’re not alone — 80 to 90 percent of women have cellulite. You see less cellulite in men because their fibers run horizontally, forming a criss-cross pattern that prevents bulging or dimpling. Cellulite isn’t a serious medical condition, and treatment isn’t necessary. Many people seek treatment for cellulite because they are bothered by how it looks. Although you can’t get rid of cellulite completely, here are some simple things you can do to reduce its appearance.
Weight loss — through healthy eating and regular exercise — is probably the most beneficial cellulite treatment. Losing pounds and strengthening muscles in your legs, thighs, buttocks and abdomen can improve the appearance of the dimpled skin. Massage and body manipulation techniques are employed to enhance the removal of fluid in the dermis area. These techniques do not remove the cellulite, but may have a temporary effect in reducing the amount of ‘dimpling’ appearance. If you have an unhealthy lifestyle and you build up more body fat, there’s a good possibility that this body fat can convert to that type of cellulite fat structure as well. Regular exercise helps increase muscle tone and burn fat. Both help to reduce the appearance of cellulite.
Eating healthy, low fat foods such as fruits, vegetables, and fiber can help one to avoid cellulite. Long a darling of dieters for its fat-burning ability, this citrus fruit can help your skin appear smoother thanks to their vitamin C content. C may be recognized as the cold-fighting vitamin, but it also helps build up and repair skin collagen — an essential component in the fight against cellulite. Your skin, liver, intestines and kidneys must work effectively to remove toxins from the body. Incomplete release of colon waste will worsen the toxic level, and waste in fluids will damage collagen and elastin fibres, which can lead to cellulite formation. In my practice, Cellfina has become the gold standard for treatment of cellulite on the thighs and buttocks. Cellulite treatment eliminates the fatty cellulite deposits that you have right now. With proper diet and exercise, your results last for years. Some medical conditions and pregnancy may cause you to develop new cellulite.
Most of us live stressful lives (how to get rid of cellulite on thighs fast) as we try to balance our work and personal lives. In stressful situations the inflammatory stress hormone cortisol is released and research has proven that people with elevated cortisol levels are more likely to have cellulite. The female hypodermis consists of small ‘recesses’ separated by parallel walls (septa). Due to fat and water which accumulate in these recesses, the walls are compressed, damaging the microcirculation and the natural form of the cell. I’ve tried all types of creams for cellulite and nothing ever worked. I was hesitant to spend $60 on another product but I was at a spa and they highly recommended this product. Caffeine creams will help by blocking the making of fats by the alpha receptors. Some creams have aminophylline, (a compound in some respiratory drugs) which, like caffeine, works by blocking the alpha receptors. You’ll need about four to eight 30-minute sessions at $300 to $500 a pop, and you can expect to see up to a 50 percent reduction in dimples.
“Cellulite-affected skin demonstrates biomechanical properties (home cellulite treatment) of increased laxity in contrast to skin without cellulite,” Gordon H. Sasaki, MD, FACS, a surgeon at the Sasaki Advanced Aesthetic Medical Center in Pasadena, CA, says. For those of us who don’t have access to regular massage, it seems that using a deep tissue foam roller regularly can greatly help as well. Make sure you scrub before you get into the shower, always in circular motions, always starting at the ankles and working up towards your heart. Injectable dermal fillers like Restylane and Radiesse, used primarily to plump up sagging cheekbones and remove facial wrinkles, have also shown to be beneficial—at least temporarily—for cellulite-plagued sections of skin. Dark leafy greens like spinach, chard, and kale are also rich in fiber, antioxidants, and minerals that promote healthier skin, faster cell regeneration, improved circulation, and more efficient fat metabolism.
Endermologie may temporarily improve the appearance of dimpled areas, but the procedure is time-consuming and expensive. Liposuction may permanently help in some cases. NASA discovered Red Light Therapy and while the beds look exactly like tanning ones, these use only infrared lights to increase blood circulation, skin tightening and minimizing pores. Many different eating plans claim to beat cellulite but there’s no miracle cure – eating watermelon for three days won’t make your thighs dimple – free. Any of your citrusy fruits are just great for that. Foods high in Omega 3 such as salmon and mackerel are excellent as well. So get stronger. Find a program and stick with it, whether that’s powerlifting or Olympic lifting or CrossFit or you and your buddies in your garage with dumbbells or whatever.
