New Cellulite Treatment, Cellfina, Gets Approved

Predominantly found on bottoms, thighs and even upper arms, cellulite strikes women of all ages and all sizes. Cellulite is more common among women than men. If other women in your family have cellulite, there's a good chance you will too. Cellulite isn't a serious medical condition, and treatment isn't necessary. Weight gain can make cellulite more noticeable, but some lean people have cellulite, as well. Though cellulite can pop up any time, it is true that cellulite does seem to appear out of nowhere and get worse with age. That’s because our tissues change. Those strands of connective tissue thicken with age, and our skin gets thinner, making cellulite more noticeable.

Weight loss — through healthy eating and regular exercise — is probably the most beneficial cellulite treatment. Some "treatments" may temporarily reduce the appearance of cellulite (best anti cellulite cream). They won't last, though. Young females will clearly have the ‘pinch’ or ‘compression’ cellulite, as this is due to a structural mechanism. Although there’s no permanent “cure” for cellulite, using an effective cellulite cream can be an important weapon in your fight against cellulite. It is important to note that many of the cellulite treatment studies have been completed with relatively small sample sizes and generally do not follow up with their participants for extended periods of time.

Many devices, products and creams claim to treat cellulite. But there is little or no scientific evidence to support these claims. Fresh herbs like cilantro promote detoxification by helping to remove heavy metals from the body that tend to hide in fat cells. These heavy metals can disrupt normal tissue function and, as a result (exercises to reduce cellulite), prevent your body from healing and functioning properly. If you feel that reducing the appearance of your cellulite isn’t something you really care about? Hey, that’s totally cool, too. Cellfina uses mechanical subcision and works by cutting tissue bands (with the tiniest scalpel—there's no bleeding and barely any bruising) in the fat under the skin to smooth out dimpling. Subcision, a surgical technique where a tiny blade or laser cannula cuts the fibrous septae, is the treatment of choice for those looking for an invasive treatment. However it can be expensive and causes short-term bruising.

The Cellfina procedure costs between $3,000 and $6,000, depending on how many areas are treated and the location of the medical practice. A low fat balanced diet plays an important role in getting rid of cellulite (how to get rid of cellulite on thighs). Eat plenty of fiber and wholegrain foods (such as bran and oat cereals) since they help to remove waste and toxins from the intestinal tract. This bikini season the hottest new product is Dove Firming Cream being modeled by "real women with real curves." The cream claims to "reduce the appearance of cellulite" after two weeks. Caffeine creams will help by blocking the making of fats by the alpha receptors. Some creams have aminophylline, (a compound in some respiratory drugs) which, like caffeine, works by blocking the alpha receptors. You’ll need about four to eight 30-minute sessions at $300 to $500 a pop, and you can expect to see up to a 50 percent reduction in dimples.

“Cellulite-affected skin demonstrates biomechanical properties of increased laxity in contrast to skin without cellulite,” Gordon H. Sasaki, MD, FACS, a surgeon at the Sasaki Advanced Aesthetic Medical Center in Pasadena, CA, says. Increasing blood flow to these areas can help remove cellulite and kettlebells are one of the most effective ways to build muscle and burn fat (both which help minimize the appearance of cellulite). Water keeps the skin hydrated and flushes out toxins (remove cellulite), and is key if you want to keep your skin looking fresh and youthful, too. Cigarette smoke has been shown to reduce blood vessel flow and to weaken and disrupt the formation of collagen, allowing for the connective tissue to become stretched and damaged more easily and for underlying fat to show through. Dark leafy greens like spinach, chard, and kale are also rich in fiber, antioxidants, and minerals that promote healthier skin, faster cell regeneration, improved circulation, and more efficient fat metabolism.

From this review it is clear that the cause of cellulite is much more sophisticated than just saying it is extra fat underneath the skin. “[Laser Lipo] consists of pads placed directly on the skin for 15 minutes that emit a specific wavelength of light that causes fat cells to essentially 'collapse' and shrink," said Dr. Aaron (cellulite treatments). And no weird side effects! If you have tried everything and the cellulite still won't shift, cosmetic surgery may be the solution. While there is no known cure to completely banish cellulite, there are ways to help minimize its appearance, so you can don your bathing suit and head to the beach with confidence. However, eating a healthful, balanced diet and exercising may be the best way to reduce the fat content in cells and reduce the appearance of cellulite.
